The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Candidate in the February 23 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, 8th July 2019 called their first witness, Buba Galadima, a spokesman of the Atiku Campaign Orgnaisation, in their petition against the election of President Muhammadu Buhari. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was present at the hearing, representing President Buhari and the APC, who are respondents in the petition. With parties having agreed on the modalities for hearing in the petition, the petitioners opened their case on Thursday, 4th July 2019 and tendered documents, including election results from polling units, wards and Local Government Areas across several States, which were admitted in evidence by the Tribunal. At the commencement of proceedings on Thursday, counsel for the petitioners, Ben Nwabueze, SAN urged the panel to be guided by what is just and equitable in the interest of peace, security and good governance. He added that the panel should not only ensure that justice is done but is also seen to be done.
