Incumbent Governor, Yahaya Bello was on Monday, January 27 sworn in for second term of four years as Governor of Kogi State. Governor Bello had been declared winner after a controversial election marked by violence and allegations of malpractices, in one of two governorship elections that INEC conducted in November 2019. Bello took the oath of office at his inauguration ceremony which held in the Government House, Lokoja. The Governor announced the appointment of 20 aides and Commissioner-nominees, some of whom had served in the first term of his administration.
