Ekiti state was created on October 14, 1996 with the population of about 2.8 million people. This creation gave birth to the present Ekiti state police command with its administrative seat located along new Iyin road Ado-Ekiti. The state command has total staff strength of 3,759 personnel. The Commissioner of the Command is CP. Leroy Sotonye Wakama (psi). The command has three Area commands, twenty-seven Divisions, ten police stations and thirty-one outposts totalling 68 stations.
