On Friday, 29th March 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ahmadu Fintiri of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the Governorship election held in the State. It will be recalled that a supplementary Governorship election held in Adamawa on Thursday, 28th March 2019 in 44 polling units across 14 Local Government Areas of the State with 40,988 registered voters. Fintiri scored 376,552 votes to defeat his closest rival, the incumbent Governor of the State, Jibrilla Bindow who scored 336,386 votes.
