Nigeria is now in the second week of transmission to the President of the amendment made to the Electoral Act 2010. With just a few months to go to the 2019 general elections, anxiety is mounting about the delay in assent to the legal framework document that should guide the conduct of the elections. It is expected that having raised objections and refused assent three times, the President will immediately sign into law the amended Electoral Act to allow for certainty of the law governing the elections.
